On Campus - Orrville Alumni - Week 2

Steven Carozza (4 solo tackles) and Tony McMorrow (1 assited tackle) helped Heidelberg's defense in a 62-27 win over Westminster.

Tim Hiller led Western Michigan to a 4th quarter comeback, running for a TD and throwing for another in the 4th, and leading the Broncos to their first win, 29-26 over Northern Illinois. For the game Hiller was 21/30, 186 yds, 3 TD, 0 INT, and a 5 yd TD run.

For the season, Hiller is 51/79 for 528 yds, with 5 TD's and only 1 INT, and now has 4883 career passing yards at WMU, putting him 4th all-time in WMU History.

Tom Brenner had a monster day for the Ashland Eagles, recording 7 tackles, 5 assists (12 total tackles), 1 forced fumble, 1 fumble recovery and 1 sack in a 25-24 loss to Ferris St.).

speaking of orrville alumni...im from akron, and as a little kid i went to a orrville football game against copley and the running back for orrville wore #22 and ran for 240yds. in the first half, it was in 1984...who was that, and what college did he go to...someone told me he went to univ. of tenn. is that true, and do you have any pics. of that game

I believe you're referring to Keith Denson. He did attend the U of Tenn. but didn't have much of an impact there. His younger brother Marcell led Orrville to back to back basketball titles in the mid 90's.

The only pics of that game would be in the newspaper archives at our local library.

Thanks for your interest, nice to know that something that happened over 20 yrs ago still sticks with you.

FYI - Keith is Marcell's uncle (not dad) as well as Mykel Griggs.

Thanks for the clarification (nice to know someone is looking at the archives.)

I never thought they were father/son....the years dont add up.....but did not know that Keith was his uncle.
