Site Statistics over the past 12 months

It's been a year to the day since I began tracking visits to this blog.  Thought this would be an appropriate time to share some data with my readers.  You know me, I'm a numbers guy, so this is right up my alley, but I wanted you all to know what a special year this has been in terms of site growth.

I've said it many times that I'm so thankful for everyone who has visited the site and taken the time to say so either through email, a comment on the site, or in person.  This is not done to brag....just wanted to share.
All stats are from Dec. 15, 2008 to Dec. 15, 2009.

Total Visits - 17,535 (7,200 of those have been from the Orrville/Wooster/Dalton area)
Unique Visits - 9,271 (this is a count of every unique visitor to the site, not people who have visited more than once)
Pageviews - 45,937 (!!!)

Can't say enough.  Thank you, thank you, thank you.

To show how the site has grown....in January 2009, the site had 578 visitors, April 2009 was my first month crossing 1000 visitors (I had 1051), September saw the site break 2000 for the first time (2082 visitors) and this past November was easily the best month in blog history, with 3997 visitors.  A certain football team making the 3rd round of the playoffs had everything in the world to do with that.

A big chunk of new visitors to the site recently have been from the readers of Orrviews.  I started writing for them back around Labor Day.  I love adding to the record of history in the town also covering the teams and doing my best to promote the positive achievements of our young people.  Thanks to Carol and the Orrviews committee for their encouragement and for the opportunity.

Thanks also to the folks who have sent along contributions and sent comments on my various topics.  Your active readership means so much to me.

Lastly....I know ads on website are the most annoying thing ever, but if anyone reading this site would be interested in discussing potential advertising opportunities (banner ads, etc.), I'd certainly listen.  I think for the right business looking to maybe market their product or service to people in the Orrville area, it could be a nice compliment to other advertising that you already have in place.

Nearly 800 unique visitors per month (1100 per month over the past 6 months) is a nice source of traffic, no?  I'm willing to open up discussion of this to local companies only.  Shoot me an email and we can talk.  If not, no biggie....we'll plod along just like normal.

Thanks again everyone, here's to a great 2010.  Not sure how it can get any better, but I've learned to not underestimate my readers.

Tim,

Congrats on the site success, it is certainly well deserved! And thanks for all of your time and effort, it's very much appreciated. You've been a daily blog read of mine since late summer.

I live in PA and you've made it so easy for me to follow my first OHS football season since about 1985.

I'm now looking forward to a basketball season filled with the same details, insight and knowledge that, by now, we all expect from you. No pressure. :)

Thanks again.

Dean,
Right, no pressure at all.

I'm trying to find my footing on basketball season. Don't think I'll have anything real interesting to say until after the first of the year.

Thanks for the kind words.
Tim

Congrat's Tim. Living out of the area this is my only connection back in to what is going on in Orrville. Thanks for all the effort! Brandon
